The Houria Method

Stop surviving. Free yourself.

Been leaping your whole life but always from shaky ground?

Most approaches to healing, performance, and leadership start at the surface.

They give you strategies, frameworks, and scripts. But your nervous system didn’t get the memo. Until the body feels safe, nothing changes. Not really. Not sustainably.

The Houria Method starts where it matters: at the root.

A Symbiotic Approach to Transformation

The Houria Method is a symbiotic approach to transformation. It works with the whole person across three dimensions: your inner world, your relationships, and your connection to something larger.

Grounded in nervous system science, emotional intelligence, and ancestral wisdom.

Named after my grandmother Houria, this method doesn’t just change how you think. It changes how you live, how you lead, and how you sustain it.

Named After Houria

In our Tunisian tradition, Houria carries meanings of enchantment, beauty, and the supernatural feminine. A nymph. A fairy. The name also shares its root with the Arabic word for freedom. My grandmother was both: a woman of quiet magic and fierce independence. Beloved in her community, financially independent, a force who passed down more than she ever said.

I didn’t set out to build a method. I set out to heal. After breaking my back surfing in 2017, I spent years rebuilding, not just my body, but my relationship with fear, identity, and belonging. The tools that emerged from that journey, breathwork, nervous system regulation, emotional processing, kept leading me back to something deeper. To wisdom I didn’t learn in a textbook. To practices I later discovered were connected to my Amazigh ancestors.

The Houria Method carries my grandmother’s name because it carries her spirit of the women in my lineage: the courage to break cycles, the strength to choose your own path, and the softness to meet yourself with compassion along the way.

The Whole Person.
Three Dimensions. Three Pillars.

In our modern world, an emphasis has been put on the mind. We think our way through life, analyse, give meaning, and focus on our mental abilities. This is what I call the mental body. But we are the sum of four bodies: the mental, the emotional, the physical, and the spiritual.

Just like our mind doesn’t exist in isolation, neither do we.Denying this simple fact leads to imbalances that manifest as anxiety, burnout, chronic stress, physical pain, emotional shutdown, disconnection from purpose, and the quiet feeling that something is missing no matter how much you achieve.

We live across three dimensions: our inner world (thoughts, sensations, nervous system states), our external world (relationships, teams, communication), and the natural world (rhythms, seasons, lineage, land).

The Houria Method works across all three. Three pillars run through everything.

Each pillar influences and is influenced by the others. Nothing exists in isolation. This is what makes the method symbiotic: cooperation, reciprocity, and constant adjustment. Like an ecosystem. Like nature itself.

Just like our mind doesn't exist in isolation, neither do we.

Pillar 1: Nervous System Regulation

The ability to think clearly, to make sound decisions in challenging times, to take action when the body wants to shut down, to respond instead of react.

That’s nervous system regulation.

A regulated nervous system changes everything: your decisions, your relationships, your team’s performance, without burnout. It’s the foundation of psychological safety and sustainability.

Pillar 2: Emotional Intelligence

Emotions are the drivers of all we do. Staying at surface level only goes so far. Start using your emotions as guidance. When you can feel without being overwhelmed, communicate without shutting down, and hold hard conversations without losing yourself, everything shifts. Your relationships deepen, your leadership sharpens, and your decisions come from clarity, not conditioning.

Pillar 3: Ancestral Wisdom

We live in a culture obsessed with the new. But the deepest knowledge is ancient. Ancestral wisdom is deep, embodied knowledge.

Backed by modern science, it offers what no strategy deck can: sustainable rhythms, collective care, and long-term thinking. Applied to your life, it reconnects you to purpose and belonging. Applied to your organisation, it builds the kind of culture people don’t want to leave, and instead, invest in.

Why Most Approaches Don't Last

Most personal development, most leadership training, most wellness programs start with the mind. They give you insight, language, goals. But they skip the body.

The Houria Method works because it starts with the nervous system. When your body feels safe, your mind can finally do what it was always capable of. You stop reacting and start responding. You stop performing and start leading. You stop surviving and start living.

This isn’t theory. It’s been tested in Sonia’s own life, in her work with hundreds of women, and it’s being carried across one of the world’s most inhospitable landscapes in the Sahara Project, a solo expedition retracing ancient Amazigh trade routes across the Saharan desert.

Is This You?

For Your Organisation

You know your team is capable of more. But you can see the toll that pressure, change, and uncertainty are taking.

You’ve tried the wellness initiatives that didn’t stick. The resilience training that felt performative. The leadership development that never truly anchored.

Your people don’t need more strategy. They need the capacity to execute the strategy they already have. From a regulated, clear, and connected place, much more is possible.

Let’s bring this to your team.

For You

You look like you have it together. But privately, you feel like you’re holding on by a thread.

You’re stuck. Not because you haven’t tried, but because you’ve been building from the wrong foundation. You’ve done the therapy, the journaling, the pushing through. And you still feel anxious. Still feel like something is missing.

You’re not broken. You’re not behind. Your nervous system just never got the safety it needed to let you move forward.

Let’s change that.

When individuals regulate, they transform. When they transform, so do their teams, their families, and their communities.

This is symbiosis. It’s at the heart of everything Sonia teaches and everything the Houria Method creates.

“Her Guidance was the missing piece.

“I’ve tried therapy and mindset work… but I still feel blocked. I felt judged with each therapist I had seen and Sonia brought full acceptance and openness to our sessions, allowing me to find safety and trust in the work. Her guidance was the missing piece. She stood as a compassionate mirror and helped me reconnect mind, heart, body and spirit.” – Rosie

“She reminded us that we’re human at work too, and that this humanity can enhance, not hinder, our results.”

Sonia’s ability to link inner work to performance left our team inspired and equipped with practical tools to foster productivity, strengthen connection, and protect wellbeing.
