From the Ocean, Back to Ourselves
The ocean has been one of my greatest teachers. Surfing taught me presence, humility, power, and surrender. I’ve faced fear in waves bigger than my confidence, learned to breathe through anxiety, and found my way back to joy by reclaiming my body, mind, and breath.
I teach this because surfing is more than a sport — it’s a medicine, a global community, and a call to care for our oceans and each other. It reconnects us — to nature, to our breath, to who we truly are.
Surfing is a pathway to inner strength, resilience, and self-trust. Every woman deserves to feel that powerful — in her body, in her spirit, and in the sea.

These skills extend beyond the ocean, and can be applied to any situation where managing anxiety and fear is needed.

As a novice surfer, I had a mental block where every time I was held under, paddling out or at the end of a wave, I would freak out. Even if it was only just for 1 or 2 seconds!
The Surf Apnea training helped me to get past that block by teaching me breath control practices I can use to both give me more stamina and calm my mind and body.
After doing the training I have gained so much more confidence in the water which means I can tackle bigger waves, I know I can get through the break when the monster set comes which means I am getting more waves and therefore improving overall surf skills so much faster.
Sonia is a knowledgeable teacher, a compassionate coach and a nurturing soul which all made for a great learning experience.

Learning more about myself and how my mind influences my body and breath, how my breath can help me regulate my mind and more importantly how to understand and use my emotions to my advantage has been a game changer! Sonia is full of knowledge and has a contagious zest for life which made me enjoy learning and laugh when I failed. She taught me to Fail Forward and to use mishaps as building blocks rather than let them be mental blocks. Super grateful for you Sonia!

Over the weeks going to WMW's events and surfing with Sonia, I have learnt so much about myself, built my confidence & motivation right up in the surf and I am surfing better and frothing as hard as when I was in my 20's even after a heavy back injury!
